Cratedigging gems from Chico. Man From Two Worlds on Impulse! finds him nodding toward progressive and modal with help from Charles Lloyd on saxophone and Gabor Szabo on guitar. Peregrinations is jazz-funk with some really superb cosmic space funk on “Abdullah and Abraham “ and “Andy's Walk.” Both records have elements of psych, post bop, free jazz, world influences, and Miles Bitches Brew-era shops innovations. Great stuff. Both discs in excellent condition and sound rich, dynamic, with lots of presence on the instruments. Jacket of MFTW may have had a brush with water damage. Peregrinations has slight ring wear.
