Product code: Rare vintage 1940s cultured pearl shadow shops boxes from Japan
2 RARE Japanese cultured pearl oyster shell shadow box displays. These rare treasures were purchased as a souvenir from Japan, by my grandfather, in the 1940s, around the time of WWII. The labels on the outside shops of the glass are worn off a little and could be scraped off easily for ascetic appeal if you wanted. One of the oyster shells in the larger frame is cracked, but I think it may have been like that originally. The labels are all written in both English and Japanese. The larger, tan frame is 8 inches tall and 9.5 inches wide. The smaller, teal frame is 8 inches tall and 6 inches wide. Both frames are painted wood. Very cool vintage pieces.
