This has aged quite gracefully and is ready to be set for the pleasure of it's owner. Kalaga is a heavily embroidered tapestry made of silk, flannel, felt, wool and lace against a background made of cotton or velvet indigenous to Burma. In a typical tapestry, padded figures are cut from various types of cloth and sewn onto a background to form an elaborate scene, from Burmese classical plays featuring budda.
