In excellent condition with no chips, cracks. Mr. John Gentile (1923-2006) was born into a glass making family, with his father Peter being the first. One of the main contributing innovators of the American paperweight renaissance. He began in the glass business in 1947 in Star City, West Virginia. John made a large range of paperweights and decorative table ware At first he catered to the lucrative tourist trade, but over the decades he honed his skills and perfected his particular style. During this time he produced high quality, unique and technically challenging paperweights. Unfortunately, when John passed away in 2006 the company closed down shortly thereafter.
