It was was written in1258 CE by the poet Sa'di who is considered one of the greatestmedieval Iranian poets. It has proven to be influential in both theEast and West and has been widely quoted as a source of wisdom."If a man be expert in any are he needs not tell it, for his own skillwill show it."
