THE VEILED LADY, a bust, after the antique by Monti, 1875. Finished in slight antique matte white marble This is the original marble sculpture of the Veiled lady as made for, and sold at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, England's finest stately home. Also known as the bride, this sculpture was created by the Italian sculptor Raphaelle Monti, who came to live and work in England, 1850. He established his name with the Veiled Lady sculpture, which was purchased by the Duke of Devonshire, and is part of the great Chatsworth house collection. Back in 1875 the Duke gave Copeland permission to reproduce this subject. This veiled lady will come in a slight antique finish. Made in the UK.
