Product code: C1950s Japanese Woodblock Print by shops Eiichi Kotozuka
Up for sale is this very beautiful woodblock print, "Kegon Falls in Autumn," which depicts the famous Kegon Falls (emanating from Lake Chuzenji) in Nikko with several figures at the base of the waterfall. This print was produced by Eiichi Kotozuka and created in connection with the series "The Four Seasons of Nikko." Kotozuka was born in Kyoto and was one of the major forces in the shin hanga movement. It's one of my favorite Kotozuka prints and would make an excellent addition once framed to any art collection. Print is unframed, but lightly affixed (on the right edges) to the original matting. The print is in excellent condition. The folio matting shows shops some minor toning on the right and left sides. Please see the photos. Print measures approximately 11.375 inches high by 8.75 inches wide. Matting measures approximately 13.75 inches high x 10.25 inches wide.
