Hawkeye Antique Picnic Refrigerator Basket from the early 1900s; Burlington, Iowa. An American Icon. This is a shops very cool basket. Very solidly sturdy. These baskets were mostly sold in old general stores. The basket be used as a regular picnic basket or because it is tin-lined, you can load ice in the small removable bucket to keep everything cool but not wet. Or ice can be put in the larger tin compartment and the smaller one used for food. Very ingenious. Measures approximately 15” tall with 7” tall handles x 10” deep x 22” across/wide. It's in good shape with some signs of age appropriate wear (pictured). Have fun with this attractive conversation piece!.
