Product code: Vintage Mexico shops 1940's Sterling Silver wide Inlay 16.5
This preowned, made in Mexico 1940's panel link collar is absolutely amazing. I recently won this at an shops auction. It is unmarked but I assure you it is sterling silver, as I was assured by the auctioneer. This was either a personal made piece or had worn away over the years and was black but shined up beautifully. The workmanship that hand this is wonderful: hand enameled, abalone inlay, sand casted, hammered choker. It is approximately 16.25-16.5" circumference, which was difficult measure with the curves, and 5/8" wide tapering to 3/8" at the ends. The weight is just about 37 grams. You can see the casting detail in the photos in stunning silver fire. This is in wonderful condition, especially for its age. The end hook is not the original but is sterling silver.and works well. I performed the acid test and the last pic shows the milky white mark for silver on the back of the necklace. Although this spot is permanent, it provides a proof mark.
