The gussets at the bottom provide depth of at least 2". Pendleton Woolen Mills calls this blanket weight wool pattern "Shonto". I sewed a quality zipper across the top. I used a quality black leather for the strap that measures about 28". The length will allow you to wear short on your shoulder or carry as a handbag. The inside is lined with natural canvas. I sewed 2 open pockets on one side of the lining. The other side has a big zippered pocket to keep valuables secure. The finishing touch was a zipper pull I made from leather and added glass crow beads for more detail. Pendleton® wool is my fabric of choice for all my handmade wool items.
