Absolutely stunning hand knotted opera length (29") strand of creamy white Majorica pearls. The beautiful clasp is adorned with a perfect cabochon pearl, safety chain and capital M hangtag all set in 18k yellow gold vermeil over sterling silver. The back of the clasp is stamped 925 and "Majorica". The man made pearls of Majorica are of exceptional quality to last decades with little to no signs of wear. Handmade only on the island of Mallorca. From the Majorica website: Majorica pearls are man-made on solid balls of glass that are coated with a proprietary coating that is made in part from fish scales. The coated imitation pearls are then left to dry before being polished, which are later dipped into a chemical to harden the surface and give them an additional layer of protection against any cosmetic damage like chipping, cracking and peeling. It shops also protects them from potential erosion that can occur upon contact with moisturisers and perfumes. EXCELLENT pre-owned condition.
