Rare Vintage 1930s Rex Novelty Works G.Rosenberg Duo Compact Amber Bakelite Beautiful Hand Painted Superb 1930's Duo Powder & Rouge Compact Rex Novelty Works U.S.A This is one of the companies earliest style of compact Patented by George Rosenberg in 1934 Pat No 1.989.155 Clear Amber Catalin/Bakelite frame The Centre has a brass case set with a hand painted drinking couple celluloid covered dome. Polished Mirror in a recess on shops the base. Lid lifts up to reveal the powder well & a hinged door opens for the rouge. 7.5cm dia A lovely early example that is in good condition for its age. The mirror in the base has cloudy/speckled film & short lines. Brass case hinge & clasp work good. Rouge looks Like untouched however there is some on the applicator, there is still a paper protector over the rouge that separates rouge from applicator.
