Description This is a very rare COALPORT collectable.Bone China Made in England in 1997. Special Occasions- "Young shops Love" Biography John Rose and his partners purchased the leases for the Caughley porcelain works from Thomas Turner in October 1799, so that from 1799 John Rose had two porcelain factories - one at Coalport on the River Severn established around 1796-7 and the other two miles away on high ground across the Severn at Caughley. Excavations at the Caughley factory site have shown it produced hybrid hard paste porcelain c.1800. From c.1814 porcelain production continued only at the Coalport factory until 1926 when production moved to Staffordshire. The Coalport site is currently occupied by buildings mainly dating to the late 19thC which form the Coalport China Museum. Coalport now produces collectible figurines as part of the Wedgwood group.
