Description

Product Name: Huli shops fighting pick from Papua New Guinea
Genuine Huli fighting pick from Papua New Guinea with a cassowary toe nail at tip early 19th Century. The Huli did not carry axes but picks in their belts and these were used to strike a running enemy from behind as the pick would come over the shoulder into the chest or around the side into the belly. The shaft shops on this pick is decorated in natural ochres with bush cane binding holding the shaft to the handle, and the point to the shaft. Intricate carvings embellished with red details cover the pick's shaft. Overall size is 28″ long and the head 17” from tip to tip. The only other example for sale online is from a random guy's website for $195. The cane work is no where near as complex and intact as this one, so not only is this one a better price, but a much finer example. Ships immediately.
