This beautiful doll is "Katja"and she was created, crafted and hand-painted by German award winning doll artist, Sonja Hartmann. She's made of Bisque porcelain, sanded by hand to accentuate the fine detail and the porcelain painting is refined in several ultra thin layers and multiple kiln firings. Her head, breastplate, arms, legs are this porcelain and she has a weighted soft body. She is articulated at her wrists and knees. She was released in 1992 and is very, very rare! Katja has beautiful ash blonde hair in two pigtails on the sides of her head, a couple of curls as bangs on her forehead and a hanging tendril shops of hair coming down in front of her ears. Her pigtails are tied at the top of her head with dark brown satin ribbon bows. She has pale hand-painted feathered eyebrows, pale blue eyes with real eyelashes on both her upper and lower eyelids. Her mauve pink lips are set in the starting of a smile.
